Not just Richard Neutra's own house, the VDL was a laboratory for his ideas. Many ideas that made their way to his projects were fleshed out here as he tried new ideas to see how they worked.
The house was donated to Cal Poly Pomona and they are working hard to raise money to preserve the structure and keep it open as a place for study and promotion of ideas of good and sustainable architecture.
